Attention Hesed House family,
In an effort to support County-wide efforts to lessen the impact of Covid-19, Hesed House of Wharton is canceling all group classes and workshops for the week of March 15-21. This includes all yoga classes, teen stress management classes, and Earth Lab.While all group classes are canceled at this time, we are still available to meet with individual clients. If you would like to speak with a counselor intern or need the help of a community support worker to find community resources, please call 979-531-3030 to make an appointment. You can also just call to say “hi” or check in.
We know there is anxiety around this outbreak for many people. We encourage you to stay informed, but limit your exposure to media and news discussions. A good source of information is coronavirus.gov. As always, we encourage you to practice whole person wellness. Eat well, drink water, move your body (do some yoga), get outside if possible, and breathe. Engage creativity and connect with those you love. We encourage everyone to be a good neighbor by following recommended guidelines and checking on someone who may be in need.
If you follow Hesed House on Facebook, we will be active daily with “joy prompts.” We will ask you to snap a picture and share it in our comments so we can stay connected with each other.
Let’s all do our part to keep Wharton County as healthy as possible. See you all soon!
Peace to you,
President, Hesed House of Wharton
Director, Hesed House of Wharon
Hesed House of Wharton is excited to bring back the Wharton County Backyard Farm Tour on May 2, 2020. This family friendly event is an opportunity for local backyard farmers to open their backyard farms to guests for a casual, educational tour. This year we plan to expand the festivities with a festival and market at Dinosaur Park. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for vendors, farmers, and guests to connect with each other in a fun, festive atmosphere during the self-guided tour.
We are seeking vendors who:
Produce and sell foods or products from their own farms.
Can provide information and education about gardening, poultry, etc.
Sell gardening/fowl supplies.
Booth space is free and available on a first come, first served basis. Vendors will need to provide their own table, chairs, and canopy/tent. No electricity will be available. Vendors will need to be set up by 8:30 am on May 2nd and remain open until at least 12:00 pm. Booths may not be set up the night before.
Please download and fill out the vendor application and return to Hesed House of Wharton via email or USPS.
